Parliament’s Spokesperson and Press Service will conduct a press briefing on the current week’s plenary session at 14:30. Journalists can participate and ask questions by connecting via Interactio.

At 15:00, Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar is scheduled to address the plenary, sharing her vision for the European Union.

The discussion on the Gaza Strip situation will commence around 15:45. MEPs, Commissioner Glenn Micallef, and Polish Minister Adam Szłapka will debate the EU’s response to Israel’s plan concerning the Gaza Strip. They aim to address humanitarian support and secure hostages’ release.

Later in the afternoon, a debate will focus on simplifying the EU’s carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM). MEPs and Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra are set to discuss reducing administrative burdens for small businesses and occasional importers. A vote on this matter is scheduled for Thursday.

In another session in the early evening, discussions will revolve around phasing out Russian energy imports. MEPs, Commissioner Dan Jørgensen, and Polish Minister Adam Szłapka will deliberate over ending Russian gas, nuclear energy, and oil imports since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began in 2022.

Around 17:15, Commission Executive Vice-President Stéphane Séjourné will present a new single market strategy following its adoption by the College of Commissioners earlier that day.

The day concludes with an evening debate focusing on improving mental health at work. Commission Executive Vice-President Roxana Mînzatu and MEPs will explore ways to prevent psychosocial risks in workplaces.

Live coverage of these sessions is available on Parliament’s webstreaming site and EbS+. Further details can be found in Parliament’s newsletter.
