MEPs will convene to discuss the results of the June 26 European Council meeting with European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The agenda included Ukraine, defense, the Middle East, and competitiveness.

Following this, at around 10:15, MEPs will debate their priorities for the EU’s next multiannual financial framework with Danish European Affairs Minister Marie Bjerre and Commissioner Piotr Serafin. A resolution adopted in May called for a “significantly more ambitious” budget.

Later in the day, at approximately 14:15, MEPs will evaluate recent developments in EU-US trade relations with Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič and Danish Minister Marie Bjerre. Before this debate, a press conference on ongoing negotiations will be held by Bernd Lange (S&D, DE), Chair of the International Trade Committee.

At around 15:30, discussions on EU preparations for wildfires and droughts will take place with Commissioner Hadja Lahbib and Danish Minister Marie Bjerre. Additionally, lessons from Budapest Pride and the need for an EU-wide anti-discrimination law will be reviewed at about 13:00.

Evening debates led by Commissioner Jozef Síkela will address human rights issues concerning Ryan Cornelius in Dubai; Joseph Figueira Martin in Central African Republic; and religious minorities in Syria. Three resolutions are scheduled for a vote on Thursday.

From around 17:30, MEPs will examine alleged misuse of funds by far-right members to ensure institutional integrity.

Voting is set to occur at noon on various topics including:

– Progress towards EU accession for Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Georgia.
– The human cost of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
– Product safety of non-EU imports.
– Fast-tracking revision proposals for the European Climate Law.
