European Parliament sets briefing on key issues ahead of plenary session

European Parliament spokespersons will conduct a briefing on the upcoming plenary session scheduled for May 21-22. The briefing is set for Wednesday at 14:30 in the Anna Politkovskaya press room in Brussels and can also be accessed via Interactio.

The agenda includes discussions on the EU’s response to Israel’s plan concerning the Gaza Strip, humanitarian support, and hostage release strategies. Other topics include debates and votes on simplifying the EU’s carbon leakage instrument, phasing out Russian energy imports, imposing tariffs on Russian and Belarusian agricultural products, a new single market strategy, and making Europe more appealing to scientists. Additionally, Nataša Pirc Musar, President of Slovenia, will address a formal sitting.

Interpretation services will be available in English and French.
