European Parliament to brief media on new Eurobarometer survey findings

Accredited journalists have been invited to attend a media briefing on the findings of a new Eurobarometer survey regarding public opinion on the European Union and its priorities. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, 2 September 2025, at 10:00 in the Anna Politkovskaya press conference room at the European Parliament in Brussels (SPAAK building, room 0A50), with participation also possible via Interactio.

Delphine Colard, spokesperson for the European Parliament, will present the main results of the survey. “The survey examines EU citizens’ priorities for the future and highlights their expectation that the EU should to protect them against global crises, strengthen security and defence, and enhance competitiveness,” according to information provided by Parliament.

The full results of this Eurobarometer survey, including all national data sets, are set to be published on the Eurobarometer website on Wednesday, 3 September 2025 at 07:00. The research agency Verian conducted interviews from 5 to 29 May 2025 across all 27 EU Member States.

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation. Interpretation services will be available in German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Polish. The briefing is under embargo until publication of the survey results; therefore, there will be no public streaming of the event.
